LoL Patch 26.16 Tier List: Best Champions One Week In

Amber.gg 4 min read

Patch 26.16 has been live for over a week, and the meta has had time to stabilize. The ADC magic resistance buff shifted the bot lane dramatically, the support roaming penalty tightened further, and three champions got buffed hard enough to jump straight into S-tier. Here's where everything stands right now.

Track live win rates on the LoL meta tracker as the ranked ladder continues to settle, and catch up on every change in the LoL Patch 26.16 Preview.

🏆 S-Tier: The Patch 26.16 Winners

ADC Duo: Kai'Sa and Zeri Take Over

The ADC base magic resistance change from 30 to 33 had a bigger impact than most players expected. Kai'Sa and Zeri are the clearest beneficiaries: both rely on being in the thick of fights, and the early MR buff lets them survive AP burst that used to delete them before they could carry.

Kai'Sa was already a strong pick heading into this patch, and the MR buff pushed her into clear S-tier. Her Void Seeker synergy rewards aggressive play, and she now survives the early trades that mage mid laners used to win for free.

Zeri thrives on mobility, and 3 extra MR base means her early skirmishing windows open sooner. She's the highest-carry option right now in solo queue. Play her into engage-heavy comps and snowball the mid game.

Gwen: The Sleeper Hit of the Patch

Gwen's buff was the most impactful change for top lane this cycle. Her sustained damage increases and the additional mana utility make her one of the most consistent carries in the game right now. She's almost ungankable when played correctly, and her teamfight utility scales into late game better than most current meta tops.

Kennen also entered S-tier after his buffs, returning to the pro-play threat level he held during his prime. His ult into teamfight wombo combos are back on the menu, especially with the current tank meta in competitive.

🟢 A-Tier: Strong Picks That Benefit from the Shift

ADC Stabilizers: Caitlyn and Ezreal Still Solid

Both Caitlyn and Ezreal received indirect buffs from the MR change. They're no longer as fragile against mage supports in the early game, and their dominant laning phase feels more consistent now. Caitlyn is the safer pick for players who want to control the tempo of a game, while Ezreal rewards mechanical investment.

Azir: Late-Game Insurance

Azir's buff this patch increased his soldier damage output, making him a genuine late-game threat again. He falls into A-tier because his early game weaknesses remain: he's gankable, his laning is passive, and he requires a peel-heavy setup. In the right hands and comp, he's a match-winner.

Nautilus and Thresh: Support Meta Anchor

The support gold penalty now activates at -33% through level 5 (up from -25% through level 3). This punishes any support that leaves lane early to roam, skirmish, or snowball a lead. Nautilus and Thresh are the biggest winners: both are pure laning-phase engage supports who create pressure without leaving the bot lane. Their value went up significantly.

📉 Drops: Champions That Lost Ground

Camille: Both Nerfs Hit Hard

Camille took a double hit this patch, losing damage on her Q and reduced stickiness on her W. Her support variant is functionally dead in solo queue. Her top lane build is still playable at high ELO, but her ceiling dropped noticeably. She went from a reliable first-pick to a counterpick niche.

See the LoL Patch 26.13 Tier List for how much the meta has shifted across three patches.

Bel'Veth and Poppy: Jungle Nerfs Feel Real

Bel'Veth's nerfs reduced her jungle clear efficiency and her late-game carry potential. She dropped from S-tier to B-tier in a single patch. She's still functional if you're a one-trick, but her ban rate dropping means you're now free to pick her into the right matchup: she's just no longer oppressive.

Poppy was the safe, tanky jungle pick that required almost no management. Her nerfs slightly increase her reliance on good timing, pushing her out of the "brainless effective" category and into a more precise execution window.
