Patch 26.5 hits live just as First Stand 2026 kicks off — Riot is shaking up the mid lane and bot lane hard. Here's every change that matters for your ranked games.

League Of Legends - Patch Notes 26.5
Released March 4, 2026, Patch 26.5 is a pro-facing update targeting the dominant picks at the top level of play. If you main mid or bot lane, pay close attention.
Lee Sin gets a meaningful Q damage boost. His early dueling goes up noticeably, making him a stronger pick into both deep jungle matchups and skirmish-heavy drafts. Expect him to show up more at First Stand — and in your lobbies.
Lillia gets across-the-board love. The passive buff accelerates her jungle clear, the Q scaling makes her teamfight hit harder, and the R damage spike is enormous — this directly strengthens her pick-comp potential at all levels of play.
Mel's R damage jump is huge at all ranks. She's already a punishing mid laner — this makes her assassination potential even more threatening in the hands of skilled players. If your opponent picks Mel, respect the powerspike 💥
Volibear gains across-the-board improvements. More damage on Q, more sustain on W, cheaper E — he's becoming a more consistent top lane threat who punishes even small positioning mistakes.
Nocturne's Q speed boost makes his ganks even harder to escape from. He's already a terror in low-vision environments — this buff rewards good R timing with cleaner follow-up.
Azir's health growth reduction is surgical but impactful. He's more vulnerable in extended trades, particularly mid-game where his soldier poke previously made diving him too risky. Now it's a real trade-off 📉
Kha'Zix was running wild in solo queue and pro play alike. The Q AD scaling nerf reduces his isolated-target burst, and the move speed cut makes his approach just slightly easier to punish. Still strong — but no longer the near-automatic snowball pick.
Orianna's early Q spam was enabling dominant lane phases across all skill brackets. The cooldown is noticeably higher at early ranks — her laning pattern changes significantly in the first 10 minutes. Trade into her more aggressively at levels 1–3.
Varus gets a mixed patch. Long-range Q poke is nerfed, but W on-hit gains bonus AD scaling. He shifts away from pure poke toward a hybrid identity — lethality and on-hit builds become comparatively stronger.
Akali: W restealth now scales with champion level instead of game time. This is a competitive QoL buff that reduces counterplay windows for teams without good vision tools — expect her to resurface in pro play.
Neeko: Clone W cooldown now starts on expiration, reducing her split-push/deceive frequency slightly. Minor, but noted in niche matchups.
Samira: Q logic improvements for sword/gun selection, with bug fixes removing unintended cooldown resets. Re-test your combos before queuing — her feel may change slightly.
Hubris drops from 3000g to 2800g (combine cost: 950 → 750g). This is a real AD assassin economy buff — the item spikes earlier and more frequently. Expect Hubris builds to become standard over the next few patches.
Locket of the Iron Solari sees early shield values adjusted upward (290 at level 8+). Slightly more rewarding in the mid-game window where engage supports thrive.
