LoL Patch 26.11 is shaking up the support role harder than anything we've seen in Season 2026. Riot is going all-in on fixing the ranged support dominance that's defined ranked and pro play, and the changes are coming from every angle 💥
If you main Thresh, Nautilus, or Leona — your time is coming back. If you've been hiding behind Lulu, Nami, or Bard all split, enjoy these last few days.
Season 2 role quests made ranged supports too efficient. They could babysit strong ADCs AND progress their quest objectives at the same time, which pushed melee/engage supports completely out of the meta.
Riot's solution: buff everything that helps melee supports survive and win, nerf what makes ranged supports dominant. It's not a subtle patch — it's a full ecosystem shift.
The goal is also to bring back early roaming viability for engage supports once laning phase wraps. Think Nautilus hitting level 6 and rotating mid. That playstyle is back on the menu. 🗺️

Diana - League of Legends Patch 26.11
Diana has been performing well in mid lane but falling behind in jungle. Riot is targeting her jungle clear and damage to bring her up to her mid-lane level in the jungle role. If you play Diana mid, nothing changes — this is a jungle-focused adjustment.
Same story as Diana. Ekko dominates mid but underperforms in the jungle. The buff brings his jungle side more in line with what he can do as a mid laner. Expect better clear speed and camp sustain.
Heimer is getting a general buff. No specific abilities called out yet in the preview — likely damage or zone-control adjustments to help him hold his lane more effectively.
Kassadin has been a bit too quiet this split. He's one of those picks that needs to be slightly overtuned to be picked at all — once he falls off, nobody plays him. Riot is nudging him back up, likely targeting his early-game numbers or void energy costs.

Kassadin - buffed in Patch 26.11
Quinn gets a general buff. She's one of those lane bully picks that lives and dies by small number tweaks — a small boost to her damage or base stats could bring her back as a top-lane and bot-lane option.
Teemo is the only direct champion nerf this patch 🍄. No specifics yet on what's getting hit, but he's been a thorn in the side of certain matchups and is getting trimmed.
This one's an accidental meta situation. AP Xin Zhao's healing has gotten out of hand — he's outhealing champions specifically designed around healing. Riot is reducing that healing while presumably keeping the rest of the build functional. It was a fun discovery, but it far exceeded intended power levels.
This is where Patch 26.11 really makes its mark.
Voidgrubs are also getting a reward increase around roaming timing. Melee supports who roam early now get more reward for that decision. 🐛
Before this patch, the optimal support play was: pick ranged, stay in lane, poke, and progress your quest. After 26.11, the calculus shifts.
Who goes up 📈: Nautilus, Thresh, Leona, Alistar, Blitzcrank — anyone who wants to run Aftershock, build Locket into Knight's Vow, and roam post-6.
Who goes down 📉: Lulu, Nami, Bard, Karma — the Aery + Echoes of Helia core takes a direct hit.
Jungle meta 🌿: Diana and Ekko get more viable, which opens up comp flexibility for teams that want fast skirmish junglers. Keep an eye on the LoL meta tracker at Amber.gg once the patch drops.

Patch 26.11 goes live May 28. Ranked up before then.
These meta changes could be decisive at the LCS Spring 2026 Playoffs starting May 23. Check out the full playoff preview to see which team's champion pool is best positioned for the new meta.
