GIANTX confirmed on July 25 that Turkish Duelist musz3kk has been permanently released from the team. He had previously been dealing with visa issues, and the organization decided to make the roster change official rather than wait for a resolution.
Jesse, who had been filling in, is now the permanent Duelist on the roster. He steps into a high-pressure spot: GIANTX still has matches to play in Stage 2 EMEA, and this is the second major visa saga to hit the EMEA region this season, following the neilzinho/Heretics situation earlier in the year.
Eternal Fire handed a brutal assignment to their substitute for his Stage 2 debut: playing against defending VCT EMEA champions Team Heretics.
Izzy has been benched for the remainder of Stage 2. Spear, largely untested at this level, steps in under maximum pressure. Eternal Fire were already in a tough spot in the standings, and this internal shakeup complicates their path forward significantly.
