All stats are pulled directly from your linked game account after each match. Any attempt to exploit rankings through smurfing, boosting, or match manipulation is subject to account review and permanent disqualification from prize pools.

Amber.gg is currently a web-based platform accessible from any browser on desktop or mobile. A dedicated mobile app is not yet available, but the web experience is fully responsive.

You can track your ladder standings, check match history, and manage your wallet from your phone's browser without installing anything.

Amber tokens are the platform's in-game currency. They can be used to enter certain ladders and unlock platform features. Tokens are separate from your fiat (USD/EUR) wallet balance.

Both your fiat balance and Amber token balance can include a bonus sub-balance awarded through promotions or the welcome bonus. Bonus balances may have specific usage conditions before they can be converted or withdrawn.

Connecting your game account is how Amber.gg verifies your stats and tracks your performance in ladders. Without a linked account, the platform cannot fetch your match history or calculate your ladder score.

Your game credentials are never stored — Amber.gg uses the official Riot Games and Lichess APIs, so only your summoner name or username is needed to pull data.

After linking your game account, play your first tracked ranked match and you will automatically receive 5 Amber tokens as a welcome bonus. No code is required — the bonus is credited to your account as soon as the match result is detected.

These tokens can be used to enter token-based ladders right away.

Onboarding typically takes 3 to 5 minutes. You will create your account, link at least one game account, and play your first ranked match to unlock the welcome bonus.

You can link additional game accounts (e.g., both LoL and Valorant) at any time from your profile settings.

A ladder is a time-limited competitive event on Amber.gg. Players join by paying an entry fee (fiat or tokens), then play normally in their linked game — no special lobbies required. Your stats from every eligible match are tracked automatically and converted into a ladder score.

At the end of the ladder period, the leaderboard is finalized and prize pool payouts are distributed to the top performers. Players always receive 70% of the prize pool.

Scoring formulas differ by game and are designed to reward consistent, high-impact play:

• League of Legends: Kills ×5 + Assists ×3 − Deaths ×3 + CS ×0.03 + Vision ×0.5 + Win bonus +20
• Valorant: Kills ×5 + Assists ×3 − Deaths ×3 + ACS contribution + Win bonus
• Lichess (Chess): Points based on game results and performance rating

Each match played during the ladder window contributes to your cumulative score. Check the specific ladder page for its exact formula.

Eligible game modes depend on the ladder configuration. By default:

Yes — most ladders allow late entry as long as the registration window is still open. Once you join, your stats from matches played after registration are counted toward your score. Matches played before joining do not count.

Late joiners start with 0 points, so joining early gives you a competitive advantage. Check the ladder's end date and current leaderboard before deciding.

The prize pool grows as more players join a ladder — each entry fee contributes directly to the pot. Players always receive 70% of the total prize pool, distributed across the top finishers according to the ladder's payout structure (e.g., top 3, top 10, etc.).

Payouts are credited to your Amber.gg wallet at the end of the ladder. You can then withdraw to PayPal or use the balance to enter future ladders.

If a ladder is cancelled before it concludes — for example due to insufficient participants or a technical issue — all entry fees are refunded in full to players' wallets.

You will be notified by email and in-platform notification when a cancellation occurs. Refunds are instant and do not require any action on your part.

It depends on the ladder. Some ladders are open to all ranks, while others are restricted to a specific rank range (e.g., Gold–Platinum only). The rank requirement is always displayed on the ladder page before you join.

Rank is verified at the time of registration using your linked game account. If your rank changes during the ladder, you remain eligible for the duration of the event.

PRO subscriptions are B2B plans for organizations — brands, streamers, and gaming communities — who want to run their own sponsored competitions on Amber.gg. Plans include:

• Enterprise — for large-scale operators with custom requirements
