VCT EMEA Stage 2 Play-Ins: Day 1-2 Results
FNATIC and Natus Vincere are out. Enterprise Esports and Joblife are the stories of Days 1-2 at the VCT EMEA Stage 2 Play-Ins, where the Challengers squads are refusing to play their role.
The VCT EMEA Stage 2 Play-Ins kicked off with a wave of upsets. Two days in, FNATIC and Natus Vincere are already eliminated, while Challengers sides Fire Flux Esports and Enterprise Esports are refusing to be pushed around. Here is the full Day 1-2 breakdown.
๐ Format Reminder
The Play-Ins slot four Challengers squads into a 12-team double-elimination bracket alongside eight VCT franchise teams who finished in the bottom half of their groups. The winners advance to the EMEA Stage 2 Playoffs in Barcelona, where a Champions Shanghai berth is on the line.
โ๏ธ Day 1 Results โ August 6
GIANTX 2-1 Eintracht Frankfurt
GIANTX opened the Play-Ins with a hard-fought three-map win over Challengers qualifier Eintracht Frankfurt. The series was closer than expected given the rank difference, with Frankfurt pushing the franchise team all the way to a deciding map. GIANTX found their footing when it mattered and closed it out to move on.
GIANTX came into the Play-Ins managing roster instability and visa issues mid-stage, so the 2-1 scrape tells its own story. They are alive, but not comfortable.
๐ฎ Joblife 2-1 Natus Vincere
Joblife handed Natus Vincere a 2-1 defeat in the Day 1 shocker. NAVI had already struggled through Group Alpha in the Stage 2 group stage and clearly carried that momentum problem into the Play-Ins. Joblife played with urgency and conviction, and NAVI had no answer in the deciding map.

Fire Flux Esports 2-0 PCIFIC Esports
Fire Flux Esports, running the REBORN roster they signed specifically for this Play-Ins run, demolished PCIFIC Esports 2-0 without dropping a map. This was not a close series. Fire Flux looked composed, coordinated, and ready to take down bigger names ahead.
PCIFIC Esports are eliminated.
๐จ Enterprise Esports 2-1 FNATIC โ The Biggest Upset of the Play-Ins
Enterprise Esports took down FNATIC 2-1 in what is already the match of the tournament. FNATIC dropped into the Play-Ins after finishing outside the top four in Group Omega, the toughest group in the stage. Enterprise came in as clear underdogs and delivered a composed, clinical performance across three maps.
FNATIC's 2026 Stage 2 run is done. No Barcelona for one of EMEA's most storied franchises.
๐ฏ Key Takeaways from Days 1-2
- Challengers 2, Franchise teams 0 in upsets: Joblife over NAVI and Enterprise over FNATIC show the gap is smaller than the seedings suggest
- Fire Flux Esports are the dark horse: a 2-0 clean sweep with the REBORN roster sends a clear message
- GIANTX survived but looked unconvincing: a 2-1 against an underdog is not the form you want heading into the Upper Quarterfinals
- FNATIC and NAVI exit earlier than anyone expected going into the bracket

๐๏ธ What's Next: Upper Quarterfinals
Following Days 1-2, the four winning sides moved into the Upper Quarterfinals to face franchise teams seeded directly into the next round:
- FUT Esports vs GIANTX
- Eternal Fire vs Joblife
- Team Heretics vs Fire Flux Esports
That last match is the one to watch. Team Heretics entered Stage 2 already short-staffed after head coach neilzinho's ACL injury, and now they face a Fire Flux squad that has already proven it can beat franchise competition. Do not sleep on this one ๐.
